The divorce between American singers Ariana Grande and Dalton Gomez is now official after almost three years of marriage.

The Los Angeles Superior Court decision on Tuesday finalized the split between the 30-year-old pop star and the 28-year-old real estate broker.

Under their agreement, Grande will pay Mr Gomez a lump sum of $1.25m (£980,000).

Grande filed for divorce six months ago, citing irreconcilable differences.

The couple’s relationship began in January 2020, shortly before the COVID-19 pandemic, and they married in May 2021 in a “small and intimate” ceremony at their home in Montecito, California.

In addition to the lump sum payment, the agreement also gave Mr. Gomez half of the proceeds from the sale of his Los Angeles home.

Grande must pay up to $25,000 for her attorney’s fees and will not pay any future alimony.

According to court papers, the two separated more than a year ago and had a prenuptial agreement. There were also no legal disputes, and they had no children, allowing the divorce to be finalized quickly.

According to his profile on the AKG website, Mr. Gomez, who was raised in Southern California, has been working in the luxury real estate market for a decade.

He and Grande were first seen kissing at a Los Angeles restaurant in February 2020.

In May that year, they made their first public appearance as a couple in the lockdown music video for Grande and Justin Bieber’s collaboration, Stuck with You.

That December, the pop star announced their engagement in an Instagram post, captioned “Always and then some”.

Two-time Grammy Award winner Grande released her seventh studio album, titled Eternal Sunshine, on March 8.

She will also star as the good witch Glinda in the film adaptation of the musical Wicked alongside English Tony-award winning actress Cynthia Erivo, Oscar-winning Malaysian actress Michelle Yeoh and American actor Jeff Goldblum.

This film is going to be released in November.

In 2017, a terrorist detonated a suicide bomb after a Grande performance at the Manchester Arena, UK, killing 22 people.
