Boeing was once known for unmatched safety and quality, an economic giant, and a shining example of American industrial prowess. not anymore.

Since late 2018, a series of setbacks have beset the company, including two fatal crashes that grounded its best-selling jet and an incident where a door plug detached in midair, causing the jet to collapse. There was a big hole in the side.

In addition to the two crashes killing 346 people, the problems cost the company billions of dollars and damaged its reputation. Here’s how Boeing got to this point.
