David Soul’s ‘Starsky & Hutch’ co-star Paul Michael Glaser honors the actor

Paul Michael Glaser is paying tribute to his late starsky and hutch Costar David Soul died Thursday at the age of 80.

The actor remembered Sol as “a brother, a friend, and a caring person” in an exclusive statement to PEOPLE, adding, “We will never see his likes again.”

The pair portrayed the titular police duo in the beloved action series in the 1970s – with Glaser playing roles ranging from streetwise David Starsky to Soul’s cerebral Kenneth “Hutch” Hutchinson.

Glaser said she was “finding it hard to understand David’s death” because “it seems like just yesterday we were sharing loving insults on the phone.”
