Democratic lawmaker trolls Republicans by daring them to give Trump this first upset honor

Rep. Gerry Connolly (D-Va.) on Sunday challenged his Republican colleagues to join him in “honoring” donald trump naming a specific government facility after the former president.

“There’s a nice federal penitentiary near Mar-a-Lago,” he said. MSNBC‘s Jonathan Capehart.

Republican lawmakers have launched rename Washington Dulles International Airport after Trump. Connolly and Reps. Jared Moskowitz (D-Fla.) and John Garamendi (D-Calif.) in his place offered to change the name of the prison closest to Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home after the former president.

Connolly explained to Capehart:

“I just thought, for a guy who now has 88 pending criminal charges – criminal – plus two major civil penalty lawsuits that have already been resolved, which cost him about half a billion dollars, I think it stands to reason that if the Republicans really “If they want to honor Donald Trump, the most appropriate way to do so is to name a federal prison he could visit shortly after Donald J. Trump.”

The first of Trump’s criminal trials is ready to start on April 15, while three others are currently in different courts.
