Gypsy Rose Blanchard attended the premiere of her new six-part documentary series with her husband in New York City on Friday — their first red carpet appearance together.
Just a week after being released on parole, Gypsy, now 32, celebrated the release of The Prison Confessions of Gypsy Rose Blanchard, about her now-infamous life story.
She and her husband, Ryan Anderson, 37, both wore matching black outfits to the show’s premiere — following the horrific abuse she suffered as a child and later being imprisoned for her role in the violent murder of her mother. That’s their story.
For her first public appearance, Gypsy — who spoke about arranging for her mother Dee Dee in her first interview since being released from prison on December 28, 2023 — wore a long-sleeve, black minidress with lace detailing.
She also wore transparent, black tights and velvet sandal heels with a crystal-lined ankle strap.
Ryan – a Louisiana teacher whose marriage took place behind bars in July 2022 – also wrapped his arm around Gypsy’s waist as they posed together for a couple’s photo.
In a public display of affection, the couple were also photographed locking lips on the red carpet.
For the event, he wore a classic black suit with a monochromatic plaid tie to coordinate with Gypsy’s look.
Her new documentary tells her story as a victim of Munchausen syndrome by proxy, who suffered horrific abuse and made national headlines for her role in the violent murder of her mother.
Recently, Gypsy gained celebrity status as Internet users followed her release.
Due to the headlines about her and her husband, she was forced to defend Ryan against trolls who left negative comments on their respective social media pages.
While doing so, he decided to reveal some candid details about his sex life.
In the comments section of a selfie Ryan recently shared on Instagram, Gypsy told him to ignore the ‘haters’ before adding that her husband is ‘rocking my world every night’.
‘Ryan, don’t listen to the haters,’ he began. ‘I love you and you love me.’
He further explained how he ‘doesn’t owe anyone anything’ and ‘our family is all that matters’.
He further said, ‘If you get likes and good comments then great, if you get hate then nothing because they do not matter.’ ‘I love you’.
“Plus, they’re jealous because you’re rocking my world every night,” she wrote. ‘Yeah, I said it, D is fire. happy wife happy life’.
Ryan then pinned her comment to the top of his post and left another comment in response.
‘Who said I care what these jealous people say, haha…now come get it baby…,’ he wrote.
Back at the premiere, Gypsy posed for a photo with the executive producer of her documentary series Melissa Moore.
He also posed for photos with television personalities and celebrities excited to meet him and learn more about his story.
She was seen with The Bachelor alum Nick Viall and his fiancée Natalie Joy.
The pair donned a casual look at the premiere in matching beige sweaters and loose-fitting pants.
Gypsy also posed with comedian Claudia Oshry on the red carpet.
They later appeared in a group photo with Oshri’s husband Ben Sofer.
At the premiere, Sofer wore a blue, patterned button-down with black pants, while Oshri chose an all-black dress.
Gypsy also posed for a photo with podcast host and content creator Amanda Hirsch as the two showed off their black ensembles.
She was wearing an oversized trench coat and accessorized with leather booties as well as a crossbody bag with a gold chain strap.
Gypsy was also seen posing for a photo with TikTok star Taffy Estefania Pessoa.
Gypsy and Ryan were also seen posing for a group photo with Ellen Fronten Bryant, Rob Sherano, Melissa Moore, Sharon Scott, Nicole Vogel, and Bri Miranda Bryant.
The first part of her six-hour docuseries, The Prison Confessions of Gypsy Rose Blanchard, premiered on Lifetime on January 5 and will be available for streaming the following day.
