Ms. Jabbari met Mr. Majors on the set of “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” in London. The lawsuit says she lived with him, first there and later in New York, but their relationship rapidly deteriorated and he regularly assaulted her when she tried to leave or disclose the extent of his misconduct. He used to shout at her and threaten her with suicide.

According to the lawsuit, in September 2022, in London, he threw her against the hood of his car, put her in a “headlock and placed his hand over her mouth to prevent her from hearing his screams for help.” Back at their home, he put his hands around her neck and threatened to kill her, the suit said. He then hit her head on the marble floor, the lawsuit continued, “strangling her until she felt she could no longer breathe.” The altercation left him with “brain fog” and “constant ringing headaches”. As per documents.

Earlier that year, in Los Angeles, he threw her in the shower, the lawsuit says, “causing her head to hit the wall.” She lived in “constant fear” of Mr. Majors, the lawsuit said.

Since his arrest, Mr. Majors’ once-high-flying career has collapsed: Marvel dropped him just hours after his conviction, and all of his upcoming films have been shelved. In an interview with ABC in January, he said that he had “never hit a woman.”

The lawsuit says his comments were intended to harm Ms. Jabbari’s reputation and career and led people to attack, harass, stalk and threaten her, including sending her death threats.

The lawsuit also accused Mr. Majors of “malicious prosecution” over his attempt to file a counter-complaint against Ms. Jabbari last summer. Ms. Jabbari turned herself in to the police, but the Manhattan District Attorney’s office declined to pursue the case, saying it lacked merit. The assault was a “crime-best-defense strategy,” the lawsuit said, “deployed by Majors to harass and intimidate his victim.”
