New Delhi:

Where is Kate Middleton? This question has dominated social media for several weeks and has fueled wild theories. New footage, apparently of the Princess of Wales at a farmers’ market, has not entirely dispelled doubts.

A photo and video published by British tabloid The Sun shows a couple strolling through a market in Windsor – with claims it was a smiling Kate Middleton and her husband Prince William. “Kate, so good to see you,” The Sun said on Monday evening, also claiming the photos were of the princess – in leggings and a black top.

“I didn’t feel like they were hiding who they were. But they didn’t know how people would react as certain things came out about their whereabouts and I got the sense that they wanted to get there faster were, Nelson Silva, who took the video, told The Sun.

He said, “Kate looked happy and relaxed. They seemed happy just to go into a shop and socialize. Kate seemed relieved as if going into the shop was a success. It felt natural.”

Another newspaper, The Daily Mail, praised an “image that will silence the conspiracy theorists” and said it would “reassure fans that she is recovering well from her stomach surgery”.

The new scenes come just a week after the outcry over the Palace officially releasing edited photos of Kate. He later issued an order to take down the image after several news agencies claimed that the image had been tampered with.

Kate Middleton, 42, has not been in the public eye since undergoing abdominal surgery for a non-cancerous but unspecified condition on January 16.

Apart from a few blurry photos, she has not been seen since, and in recent weeks social media has been filled with speculation about her health, generating global headlines and rumors.

Rather than quell fears over his health, the edited photo released by Kensington Palace intensified the rumors as the media scrambled to pull the photo with information about the killing.

Kate apologized but also faced criticism from the generally supportive media.

The new farmer’s market video has also sparked a debate on social media and viewers are questioning the media on several issues. Some people said that in the era when every phone has a 4k or HD camera, the photos look too blurry.

Other conspiracy theorists also thought that the woman captured was not Kate Middleton, but a body double.
