A Texas man was arrested Sunday on a Delta Air Lines flight in Salt Lake City for using a photo taken from another passenger’s boarding pass without a ticket while they weren’t looking, according to court documents. .

Wycliffe Yves Fleurizard, 26, is charged with piracy on board a ship or aircraft, according to a complaint filed Monday in U.S. District Court in Utah.

The complaint alleges that before the flight took off at Salt Lake City International Airport, security footage showed Flurizard taking pictures of several passengers’ phones and boarding passes while they were not looking and then flying to Austin, Texas. Were using their phones to board the flight. ,

The complaint states that once boarding the plane, Fleuriard went to the lavatory at the front of the plane and spent “a considerable amount of time” there while other passengers boarded the plane.

“After boarding was completed and just before the aircraft doors were secured, Fleurizard exited the front lavatory and walked to the back of the aircraft and entered the rear lavatory,” the complaint states.

According to the complaint, when he came out of the bathroom, a flight attendant noticed there were no seats available and reached out to Fleurizard to assist him, who noted that the plane had already moved past the gate and onto the runway. Started descending from.

The complaint says Fleurizard told the flight attendant his seat was 21F, but the crew member verified that the person who had purchased a ticket for that seat was already seated in it.

The complaint states that once the flight attendant obtained Fleurizard’s real name and determined he had no ticket or booking reservation, the plane returned to the gate and he was met by law enforcement.

Fleurizard told police he was in Park City, Utah, for a snowboarding trip and “he needed to get home to see his family,” the documents read. According to the complaint, he said he was booked on a Southwest Airlines flight early Sunday, but the flight was overbooked and he was rescheduled to a later flight.

“Fleurizard admitted he made a mistake and was only trying to get home,” the complaint said.

He is being held in federal custody at the Salt Lake County Metro Jail, police told CNN.

CNN has been unable to determine whether Fleurizard has an attorney.

Delta Airlines spokesperson Morgan Durant said the airline is cooperating with the investigation.

“Delta is cooperating with law enforcement and relevant federal agencies in connection with the investigation into the deboarding of a non-ticketed individual from a plane in Salt Lake City prior to a scheduled departure. We defer any additional questions to law enforcement,” Durant said in a statement.
