The Walking Dead and Invincible star Steven Yeun has reportedly left Marvel’s upcoming anti-hero team film Thunderbolts.
According to sources who spoke to The Hollywood Reporter, Yeun will not be seen in Thunderbolts despite being confirmed to play the Sentry, perhaps the most powerful but most dangerous superhero in all of Marvel.
The Hollywood Reporter gave no clear reason for ending Yeun’s involvement in the film, although referenced the delay of Thunderbolts to 2023 due to the writers’ and actors’ strikes that had effectively brought Hollywood to a standstill.
The Thunderbolts star David Harbor as the Red Guardian, Olga Kurylenko as Taskmaster, Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, Hannah John-Kamen as the Ghost, Wyatt Russell as U.S. Agent, and Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes of The Suicide Squad. , will star as the Avengers’ antagonist. Team.
Yeun’s role was never confirmed by Marvel, but was widely reported based on inside information before The Walking Dead creator Robert Lett slip Yeun was set to play the Sentry.
The role will likely be recast, although it is unclear whether Sentry was a minor role intended to set up a larger project in the future or whether the Thunderbolts starred him as a leading man.
