Montgomery woman kills man after alleged kidnapping and drugging

GILLESPIE COUNTY, Texas – A Montgomery woman shot and killed a man who allegedly kidnapped her.

At 12:42 p.m. on March 15, Gillespie County police responded to a 911 call from a woman who said she had been kidnapped and drugged, and had shot her kidnapper in a car. Her whereabouts were unknown for a short time, until it was confirmed that she was near a warehouse in the 10800 block of U.S. Highway 290 East.

The woman was able to describe the vehicle she was in and the weapon she used. Police found the vehicle parked in the outside lane of westbound traffic. There was a dead man in the front seat.

The man in the vehicle was later identified as Lance Damon Reid, 49, who resided in the Houston area.

Law enforcement gathered evidence at the scene and the woman was taken to a nearby hospital and questioned by investigators.

The investigation into this situation is ongoing, according to the Gillespie County Sheriff’s Office.
