New York doctor who was going to see the eclipse dies after falling from an Airstream

Dr. Monika Woroniecka died after falling from a mobile home onto a road in Jefferson County, New York, on April 6, 2024.

A well-known pediatrician died after falling from her Airstream camper on a New York highway, reportedly while on her way to see the Total solar eclipse with his family on Monday.

Dr. Monika Woroniecka, 58, fell from the Gray Airstream 2024 that was being lifted by a pickup truck her husband was driving, according to New York State Police. The crash occurred Saturday afternoon on Route 12E in Jefferson County, in the northern part of the state.

Woroniecka arrived in the Airstream with other family members during the last 20 minutes of their trip, the department said in a news release.
