OHIO – The National Weather Service confirmed that at least one tornado touched down during Tuesday’s storms.

The NWS said the tornado was an EF-1 and touched down near West Union, Ohio, in Adams County. The tornado started near the intersection of Brier Ridge Road and Robinson Hollow Road and then lifted near Adams Lake State Park.

NWS said the survey is ongoing and more information will be released in the near future.

Many areas of Ohio are suffering damage after Tuesday’s storms. Areas such as Ironton and Proctorville in Lawrence County in southeastern Ohio were especially hard hit, with trees down on homes and some flooding.
