Police are still searching for suspects.

One person is dead and two others are in stable condition following an active shooting in Jacksonville Beach, Florida, on Sunday night.

Jacksonville Beach’s downtown and beach district/bar have been “locked down” after the incident scene expanded to that area, Sgt. Tonya Tator said at a news conference Sunday night. “It will remain closed until further notice,” she said.

Authorities are still looking for suspects, Tator said. If anyone knows or sees anything, they are asked to call the Jacksonville Beach Police Department, he told reporters.

The shooting occurred “in the open,” Tator said.

Police had previously asked the public to shelter in place.

“The Jacksonville Beach Police Department is currently working an active shooter incident in our downtown. This is an active scene and we ask everyone to shelter in place at this time. If you have any information can help us, call 904-270-1661,” reads a previous post about police Facebook page and the Emergency Preparedness in Jacksonville Beach Account X.

The order was lifted shortly before 11 p.m. Eastern time.

This is a developing story. Please check back for updates.
