According to RareDiseases.org, Stiff Person Syndrome is a “rare acquired neurological disorder characterized by progressive muscle stiffness (stiffness) and repeated episodes of painful muscle spasms.”

The pop icon was diagnosed with SPS in 2022 and revealed the news in a teary-eyed video at the time, also announcing that she would have to postpone her European tour. It was later canceled last year.

She said, “As you know I have always been an open book and I was not ready to say anything earlier but now I am ready.”

“I’ve been struggling with my health issues for a long time and it’s been really difficult for me to face my challenges and talk about everything I’ve been going through.”

In November 2023, Dion made her first public appearance in nearly four years when she attended a hockey game in Las Vegas.

The Canadian pop star made a surprise appearance at the Grammys last month. cbs

The game was between the Vegas Golden Knights and his hometown team, the Montreal Canadiens.

Meanwhile, the “Because You Loved Me” singer delighted fans after making a surprise appearance at this year’s Grammy Awards.

She came out to present the Album of the Year award to Taylor Swift for “Midnights” at the conclusion of the ceremony.

Dion said, “Those who have had the privilege of attending the Grammy Awards should never lose sight of the tremendous love and joy that music brings to our lives and to people around the world.”

“It gives me great pleasure to present the Grammy Award that two legends, Diana Ross and Sting, gave me 27 years ago,” he said with a smile.
