You’ll never guess how many titles changed hands at AEW Battle of the Belts VIII…

It didn’t take long for AEW fans to realize this after its debut battle of the belts is roughly one skippable show, is usually filled with a lot of ROH title matches or AEW title matches that lack attractive challengers/stories. As far as I remember, the first seven Battle for the Belts events only involved one championship change.



Will anything be different tonight (October 21)? battle of the belts eighth, Not necessary.

We got our filler ROH Title match in the form of Samoa Joe’s victory over ROH World TV Champion Tony Nese.

Elsewhere on the card, AEW World Trios Champions Daddy Ace and The Acclaimed defeated former Jericho Appreciation Society members, AEW International Champion Orange Cassidy retained against John Silver, and TBS Champion Chris Statlander got a victory over Willow Nightingale.

That’s four more title matches in the Battle of the Belts series, and once again no belts changed hands. But hey, at least most of the matches were pretty good.
